Overview

PBC011 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed by Chongqing Precision Biotech Co., Ltd. for the treatment of relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The therapy involves genetically engineering a patient's own T cells to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that specifically targets CD123 (interleukin-3 receptor subunit alpha). CD123 is highly expressed on AML blasts and leukemia stem cells, making it a strategic target for eradicating the disease and preventing relapse. Once infused back into the patient, these engineered T cells recognize and bind to CD123-positive cells, leading to targeted cell lysis. PBC011 is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials (NCT04265963) to assess its safety and efficacy in patients with limited therapeutic options.
