Overview

PBCLN-003 is an investigational small molecule drug developed by Prolacta Bioscience for the treatment of digestive system disorders, specifically targeting *Clostridium difficile*-associated diarrhea (CDAD). The drug is based on human milk oligosaccharides (HMO), which are complex sugars naturally found in human breast milk. These HMOs are believed to help restore and maintain a healthy gut microbiome, particularly following antibiotic therapy that can disrupt normal intestinal flora. PBCLN-003 was evaluated in a Phase 1 double-blind, randomized clinical study to assess its safety and dosage range in adults with CDAD. However, development of the drug has been discontinued.
