Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PBCLN-010 is a therapeutic formulation of human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs), a collection of approximately 200 structurally diverse sugars naturally found in high concentrations in human breast milk. Unlike nutritional components of breast milk, HMOs are not metabolized as an energy source by infants but instead guide the growth of appropriate bacteria in the gut, helping to train the immune system. PBCLN-010 is being investigated in combination with PBCLN-014 (Bifidobacterium longum subspecies infantis) as a therapy for patients with blood cancers undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Previous clinical trials have shown that this combination can safely and predictably control the gut microbiome in healthy adults.
