Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PBI-07343 is an investigational botanical extract derived from *Nerium oleander* developed by Phoenix Biotechnology and Salud Integral. It belongs to a family of oleander-based products (including ANVIRZEL, PBI-05204, and PBI-06150) that contain the cardiac glycoside oleandrin as a primary active component. PBI-07343 has been evaluated in preclinical safety and toxicology studies in animals, demonstrating a safe dosing range. Like other *Nerium oleander* extracts, its mechanism of action is primarily mediated by oleandrin, which selectively binds to and inhibits the Na+/K+-transporting ATPase (specifically targeting the alpha-3 subunit, ATP1A3, which is overexpressed in malignant cells). This inhibition leads to increased intracellular calcium levels, mitochondrial cytochrome C release, and caspase-dependent apoptosis, making it a potential therapeutic candidate for oncology applications.
