PBI-1737

PBI-1737 is an orally bioavailable small molecule antagonist of the P2Y14 receptor (P2Y14R), a G protein-coupled receptor primarily activated by UDP-glucose. Developed by ProMetic Life Sciences (now Liminal BioSciences), the compound was designed to target inflammatory and fibrotic pathways. The P2Y14 receptor is expressed on various immune cells and structural cells in the lung and kidney, where its activation contributes to the recruitment of inflammatory cells and the progression of fibrosis. PBI-1737 was investigated for its potential in treating respiratory conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as fibrotic diseases of the kidney.
