Drug intelligence / Profile preview
pBI-4 Vaccine is an investigational therapeutic DNA plasmid vaccine developed by PapiVax Biotech and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for the treatment of human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16)-positive cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and persistent HPV16 infections. The vaccine is designed to express the HPV16 E6 and E7 oncoproteins, thereby inducing a robust, antigen-specific T-cell-mediated immune response to target and eliminate virally infected and precancerous cervical cells. To enhance cellular uptake and immunogenicity, the vaccine is administered intramuscularly via electroporation using the TriGrid Delivery System (as part of the PVX4 combination product). It is currently being evaluated in Phase II clinical trials.
