PBI-4050 + midazolam

PBI-4050 + midazolam is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents. PBI-4050 is a novel, orally active small-molecule compound developed as an anti-fibrotic agent for the treatment of fibrotic diseases such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, scleroderma, and Alström syndrome. It acts as an agonist at G-protein coupled receptor 40 (GPR40) and antagonist at G-protein coupled receptor 84 (GPR84), modulating inflammation and fibrosis by regulating macrophages, fibroblasts/myofibroblasts, and epithelial cells. It also affects pathways involved in cellular energy metabolism such as LKB1/AMPK/mTOR[1][4][5]. Midazolam is a benzodiazepine used primarily for sedation before medical procedures. It acts by enhancing the effect of gamma-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) at the GABA-A receptor in the central nervous system[6].
