Overview

**PBI-4419** is a first-in-class, orally active small molecule developed by ProMetic Life Sciences as a more potent third-generation analogue of PBI-1402. It functions primarily as an inhibitor of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), reducing fibrosis by significantly decreasing CTGF expression (by 60%) and collagen I in experimental models. ProMetic's lead candidate at one point, it showed potential in preclinical models of chronic kidney disease (CKD), pulmonary fibrosis, and some cancer models, outperforming standard therapies in certain cases, with strategic partnerships explored for advancement.[1][3][4][8][9][12]
