**PBI-4419** is a first-in-class, orally active small molecule developed by ProMetic Life Sciences as a more potent third-generation analogue of PBI-1402. It functions primarily as an inhibitor of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), reducing fibrosis by significantly decreasing CTGF expression (by 60%) and collagen I in experimental models.
