Overview

PBMC15MCAR-NK is an experimental allogeneic cell therapy consisting of natural killer (NK) cells derived from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and engineered to express a mesothelin-targeting chimeric antigen receptor (MCAR) and human interleukin-15 (IL-15). Developed as a comparator in preclinical studies for uterine endometrial carcinoma (UEC), these cells utilize the SS1 anti-mesothelin scFv for tumor recognition. The inclusion of IL-15 is intended to enhance the persistence and cytotoxic activity of the NK cells. While demonstrating potent short-term cytotoxicity against mesothelin-expressing tumor cells, PBMC15MCAR-NK cells showed limited expansion capacity and reduced long-term persistence compared to stem-cell-derived CAR-NKT platforms in serial tumor-killing models.
