Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PBP2102 is a monoclonal antibody biosimilar of pembrolizumab (Keytruda), currently under development by Prestige Biopharma (PBK). It is designed to target the Programmed Cell Death Protein 1 (PD-1) receptor on T cells. By binding to PD-1, PBP2102 blocks the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands, PD-L1 and PD-L2, thereby preventing the inhibition of T-cell activation and restoring the immune system's ability to recognize and attack tumor cells. The drug is being developed for the treatment of various solid tumors and is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
