Overview
PBS Vax HCV Vaccine is a therapeutic vaccine candidate developed by Auro Vaccines for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. The vaccine utilizes a heterologous prime-boost strategy, combining a GeneVax DNA vaccine prime with a VesiculoVax viral vector boost. The VesiculoVax platform is based on a recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus (rVSV) vector. This approach is designed to elicit a broad and potent immune response, including both cellular (T-cell) and humoral (antibody) components, against HCV antigens across all major genotypes. The goal of the therapy is to achieve viral clearance in chronically infected individuals. As of the latest pipeline information, the program is in the preclinical stage and is currently listed as being on hold.
