PC-104

**PC-104** is a synthetic pseudoceramide, chemically identified as hydroxypropyl bispalmitamide MEA, designed to mimic the barrier-supporting functions of endogenous stratum-corneum ceramides. It is used topically as a skin-conditioning and barrier-restoring ingredient that increases skin hydration and reduces transepidermal water loss. In a four-week clinical study, PC-104 was administered within a proprietary topical cream also containing palmitamide MEA, glycyrrhetinic acid, and grape seed extract; the combination improved signs and symptoms of mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis and other pruritic dermatoses. PC-104 originated from Amorepacific pseudoceramide research and was subsequently evaluated in an Exeltis-supported therapeutic cream study.
