PCCP solution is an experimental dental desensitizer developed by the School of Stomatology at Zhejiang University. It is a biomimetic mineralizing agent composed of poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimers, carboxymethyl chitosan (CMC), and calcium phosphate (CP). The solution is designed to treat dentin hypersensitivity by promoting the occlusion of exposed dentinal tubules through the induction of hydroxyapatite crystal growth. PAMAM dendrimers serve as a molecular template to guide the deposition of minerals, while CMC acts as a stabilizing agent for the calcium phosphate precursors. This approach aims to provide a long-lasting reduction in tooth sensitivity by restoring the mineral structure of the dentin and preventing fluid movement that triggers nerve pain.
