The PCV2-Mycoplasma dual vaccine is a veterinary combination biologic designed to provide simultaneous protection against Porcine Circovirus Type 2 (PCV2) and *Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae* (M. hyo) in swine. PCV2 is the primary agent of Porcine Circovirus Associated Disease (PCVAD), which causes wasting and immunosuppression, while M. hyo is the causative agent of enzootic pneumonia, a chronic respiratory disease. These vaccines typically utilize a recombinant PCV2 capsid protein (ORF2) expressed in a baculovirus system and an inactivated M. hyo bacterin, often formulated with specialized adjuvants to enhance the immune response. By targeting two of the most significant pathogens in the Porcine Respiratory Disease Complex (PRDC), these dual vaccines reduce the number of injections required, improving animal welfare and labor efficiency on farms while significantly reducing lung lesions and viral shedding.
