PCX12 is an encapsulated interleukin-12 (IL-12) therapeutic vaccine developed for the treatment of pancreatic cancer, particularly locally advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma. It is designed as an in-situ tumor vaccination approach, delivering IL-12 directly into the tumor microenvironment in a sustained manner. This strategy aims to rapidly activate pre-existing antitumor T-effector cells and induce both local and systemic anti-tumor immune responses. Preclinical studies have shown that this method can lead to complete eradication of tumors in animal models and development of long-lived systemic anti-tumor immunity. PCX12 is being investigated for use in combination with Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) to enhance immune-stimulatory and antitumor effects[1][2][8].
