Overview
PD-1 antibody-cytokine fusion protein (Qiyu Biotechnology) is an experimental bifunctional biologic being developed by Qiyu Biotechnology (also known as QureBio). The molecule consists of a monoclonal antibody targeting the Programmed Cell Death Protein 1 (PD-1) receptor fused to a cytokine moiety. This design aims to direct cytokine activity specifically to PD-1-expressing cells, such as tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes or exhausted T cells, thereby modulating the immune microenvironment. The candidate is currently in preclinical development for a broad range of indications, including various cancers as well as autoimmune and inflammatory disorders. By utilizing the PD-1 antibody as a targeting vehicle, the therapy seeks to improve the therapeutic index of the attached cytokine, potentially reducing systemic toxicity while enhancing localized efficacy.
