PD-1 knockout autologous activated T cells is an autologous cell therapy consisting of patient-derived activated T cells (such as cytokine-induced killer cells) genetically engineered using CRISPR/Cas9 or lentiviral technology to knock out the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) gene. Developed by the 105th Hospital of PLA in collaboration with Anhui Kedgene Biotechnology, this therapy aims to enhance the anti-tumor cytotoxicity of the patient's own immune cells by removing the inhibitory PD-1 checkpoint, which tumors exploit to evade immune surveillance. It has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials in China for the treatment of advanced, recurrent, or metastatic malignant tumors.
