Overview

**PD-1-M1-NK Cells** are a form of engineered natural killer (NK) cell therapy designed for cancer immunotherapy. These cells are likely human NK cells that have been modified to overexpress or utilize mechanisms involving the **programmed death-1 (PD-1)** pathway to enhance antitumor activity. The cells are engineered to resist inhibition by PD-L1, a mechanism that tumors use to evade immune attack, thereby restoring or boosting the cytotoxic function of NK cells against cancer cells. This therapy is currently being evaluated for the treatment of advanced gastric and other types of solid tumors, with the goal of overcoming immune checkpoint-mediated suppression within the tumor microenvironment[8].\nMechanistically, PD-1-M1-NK Cells may function by either blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 interaction or rendering NK cells insensitive to PD-L1-mediated inhibition, enhancing their antitumor activity even in tumors with low MHC expression that are less susceptible to T cell attack[1][2][3][8].
