PD00

PD00 is a small molecule phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor developed by the Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry (SIPI) for the treatment of allergic asthma. PDE4 is a key enzyme responsible for the degradation of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) in inflammatory and immune cells. By inhibiting PDE4, PD00 increases intracellular cAMP levels, which in turn suppresses the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators, such as leukotrienes and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α). This mechanism helps to reduce airway inflammation and promote bronchodilation. PD00 has been investigated in early-phase clinical trials in China as an oral maintenance therapy to manage the underlying inflammatory processes associated with allergic asthma.
