PD1-Vaxx is a first-in-class B-cell peptide cancer vaccine designed to induce the body’s immune system to generate polyclonal antibodies against programmed cell death 1 receptor (PD-1). Unlike monoclonal antibody therapies that block the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway directly, this active immunization approach aims to stimulate both humoral and cellular immunity by producing endogenous anti-PD-1 antibodies. The goal is to provide durable immune responses with potential memory effects while reducing immune evasion and resistance seen with monoclonal checkpoint inhibitors. Preclinical studies have shown safety and efficacy in animal models of colon cancer. Clinical development focuses on cancers overexpressing PD-L1, particularly non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), including patients who have progressed after prior checkpoint inhibitor therapy[2][3][5].
