Overview

PD2 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the Pancreatic Differentiation 2 (PD2) gene, also known as PAF1 (RNA polymerase II-associated factor 1). PD2/PAF1 is a component of the PAF complex, which plays a critical role in transcriptional elongation, histone modification, and mRNA processing. In the context of oncology, particularly pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), PD2 is frequently overexpressed and is associated with the maintenance of cancer stem cells and the promotion of cell proliferation and metastasis. By specifically targeting and degrading PD2 mRNA, this siRNA approach aims to inhibit the oncogenic signaling pathways mediated by the PAF complex, thereby reducing tumor growth and potentially enhancing the sensitivity of cancer cells to chemotherapy.
