Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PD2024 is a novel small molecule inhibitor targeting tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNFα), developed as an immune modulator to address neuroinflammation. It was initially developed by P2D Bioscience. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that PD2024 can alleviate sensorimotor gating deficits and reduce microglial activation in rodent models of schizophrenia, suggesting its potential utility in treating neuroinflammatory processes associated with psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia. The drug acts by inhibiting TNFα, a pro-inflammatory cytokine implicated in the pathophysiology of several central nervous system diseases[1].
