PD3044

PD3044 is a first-in-class, centrally-active dopamine transporter inhibitor and benztropine analogue developed by P2D Bioscience. It is classified as a tropane derivative and acts primarily as a dopamine uptake inhibitor with additional activity as a dopamine receptor agonist. Preclinical data suggest it may also antagonize histamine receptors. The drug was designed for the treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), but has not advanced beyond preclinical development. As an analog of benztropine, which is FDA-approved for other indications, PD3044 represents an effort to improve affinity and selectivity for the dopamine transporter in CNS disorders[1][2][9].
