Overview

PDC-APB is a novel small molecule immunotherapy developed as a vaccine-like agent to prevent contact dermatitis caused by exposure to urushiol oil from poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac. It acts as an immunomodulator designed to reduce or prevent the T cell-mediated hypersensitivity reaction that leads to allergic contact dermatitis following urushiol exposure. The compound was originally developed through research at the University of Mississippi and ElSohly Laboratories and is being advanced by Hapten Sciences. Clinical development has included multiple Phase I trials assessing safety and tolerability in healthy volunteers[2][3][4][5][6].
