PDH-MSC-TxP is an investigational allogeneic cell therapy composed of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Developed by the Fundación Para La Investigación Biomédica Del Hospital Universitario Puerta De Hierro Majadahonda, it is specifically designed for the treatment of chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD), which includes conditions such as bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS) and chronic rejection following lung transplantation. The therapy leverages the innate immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties of MSCs to mitigate the immune-mediated damage and fibroproliferative processes that lead to graft failure. By secreting various paracrine factors and interacting directly with host immune cells, PDH-MSC-TxP aims to stabilize lung function and improve long-term outcomes for transplant recipients who have failed standard immunosuppressive therapies.
