Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PDP-716 is a **novel once-daily ophthalmic suspension formulation of brimonidine tartrate 0.35%**, developed using proprietary resin microparticle technology (TearAct), which provides controlled, slow, and consistent release of brimonidine to improve intraocular pressure control. The drug is designed for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with **open-angle glaucoma** or **ocular hypertension**, with efficacy equivalent to the three-times-daily brimonidine formulation (Alphagan P 0.1%), but with improved dosing convenience and consistent drug delivery. PDP-716 is being developed to enable once-daily dosing, aiming to enhance patient compliance and quality of life[1][2][3][4][5][7][8].
