Overview

**PDsol 12** is an investigational low-sodium peritoneal dialysis solution developed by Fresenius Medical Care for use in patients receiving continuous ambulatory or automated peritoneal dialysis. It was evaluated against Gambrosol Trio 40 in a randomized study in hypertensive patients with chronic kidney failure. By lowering sodium exposure in a prescribed dialysis exchange, the solution was intended to enhance net sodium removal while maintaining fluid removal, thereby improving sodium and water balance and potentially reducing blood pressure or antihypertensive medication requirements.
