Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Peforelin is a synthetic decapeptide analogue of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) used exclusively in veterinary medicine, primarily within the swine industry. It functions as a GnRH receptor agonist, acting on the anterior pituitary gland to stimulate the secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). This hormonal surge promotes the maturation of ovarian follicles and triggers the onset of estrus. Peforelin is specifically indicated for the induction of estrus in sows after weaning and for the stimulation of puberty in prepubertal gilts. Xiamen Origin Biotech is a developer and manufacturer of the peforelin active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), supplying it for various veterinary applications.
