Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PEG-BCT-100 is a PEGylated recombinant human arginase 1 (rhArg1) developed by Bio-Cancer Treatment International Limited. It is a biologic therapeutic designed to target arginine auxotrophic tumors—cancers that cannot synthesize their own arginine and depend on external sources for growth. The drug works by depleting arginine from the bloodstream, thereby starving the tumor cells. PEG-BCT-100 has been evaluated in clinical trials for several indications, including malignant melanoma, castration-resistant prostate cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and acute myeloid leukemia.
