Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PEG-Chula is a polyethylene glycol (PEG)-based osmotic laxative formulation specifically developed to improve palatability and treatment compliance in children with functional constipation. It works by creating an osmotic gradient that retains water within the intestinal lumen, which softens the stool and increases the frequency of bowel movements. To enhance pediatric adherence, the formula is available in several flavors, including strawberry, lychee, apple, and lychee-rose. Clinical evaluation has shown it to be as effective and safe as standard commercial PEG preparations (such as Forlax) while offering superior palatability ratings from pediatric patients.
