Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**PEG@mPt-HF** is a preclinical theranostic nanomedicine comprising halofuginone loaded into polyethylene glycol-coated mesoporous platinum nanoparticles. The platinum nanoparticle carrier provides computed tomography contrast and photothermal tumor ablation, while released halofuginone suppresses transforming growth factor beta-associated extracellular-matrix remodeling and collagen deposition. It was developed in mouse breast-cancer models to improve intratumoral delivery, reduce stromal barriers, enhance photothermal antitumor activity, and mitigate the liver toxicity observed with free halofuginone.
