Overview
Pegfilgrastim-jmdb is a biosimilar of pegfilgrastim, marketed under the brand name Fulphila. It is a covalent conjugate of recombinant methionyl human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) and monomethoxypolyethylene glycol. Pegfilgrastim-jmdb acts as a long-acting colony stimulating factor that stimulates the bone marrow to produce new white blood cells, specifically neutrophils, by binding to the G-CSF receptor on hematopoietic cells. Its primary indication is to decrease the incidence of infection, as manifested by febrile neutropenia, in patients with non-myeloid malignancies receiving myelosuppressive anti-cancer drugs[1][2][3][5][6]. Pegfilgrastim-jmdb has demonstrated comparable efficacy and safety to reference pegfilgrastim in clinical trials[8].
