Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pegylated BA-210 is a PEGylated version of BA-210, which is a first-in-class, topically applied, biologic Rho inhibitor. The original BA-210 was developed by BioAxone BioSciences to inactivate Rho. PEGylation (the addition of polyethylene glycol chains) is a common strategy to improve drug circulation time, reduce immunogenicity, and enhance therapeutic efficacy. The drug acts as a Rho GTPase inhibitor and ROCK1 (Rho-associated protein kinase 1) inhibitor, which may help in treating acute spinal cord injury by preventing neuronal damage.
