This is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of three agents: pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD), cyclophosphamide, and nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-paclitaxel). Pegylated liposomal doxorubicin is an anthracycline antibiotic encapsulated in pegylated liposomes to reduce cardiotoxicity and prolong circulation time. Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent that interferes with DNA replication. Nab-paclitaxel is a taxane microtubule inhibitor formulated as nanoparticles bound to albumin, enhancing delivery and reducing hypersensitivity reactions compared to conventional paclitaxel. This combination has been studied primarily as neoadjuvant therapy for HER2-positive breast cancer, often in conjunction with anti-HER2 agents such as trastuzumab and pertuzumab[1][2][3][4][5]. The regimen aims to maximize antitumor efficacy while minimizing cardiac toxicity associated with traditional anthracyclines.
