Overview

This is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of three agents: - **Pegylated liposomal doxorubicin** (PLD), an anthracycline encapsulated in polyethylene glycol-coated liposomes, which prolongs circulation time and enhances tumor targeting while reducing cardiotoxicity. PLD works by inhibiting topoisomerase 2, thereby blocking DNA replication and cell division in cancer cells[1][5][9]. - **Cyclophosphamide**, an alkylating agent that crosslinks DNA strands, leading to inhibition of DNA synthesis and function, resulting in cell death. - **Vincristine**, a vinca alkaloid that binds to tubulin and inhibits microtubule formation, arresting mitosis at metaphase. This combination is used for the treatment of various cancers where multi-agent chemotherapy regimens are indicated. Each component has a distinct mechanism contributing to broad antineoplastic activity.
