Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) and temozolomide. Temozolomide is an alkylating agent that works by preventing cancer cells from making DNA, while pegylated liposomal doxorubicin is doxorubicin encapsulated in a pegylated liposome with unique pharmacokinetic properties. This combination has been studied primarily for brain tumors including glioblastoma multiforme, as well as for brain metastases from solid tumors and recurrent ovarian cancer.
