PEHRG214 is a polyclonal antibody preparation produced by immunizing goats (caprine) with purified HIV antigens. The resulting antibodies target epitopes on HIV-associated proteins that are typically immunologically silent in humans. This approach enables the recognition and neutralization of diverse strains of HIV-1, including both CCR5 and CXCR4 phenotypes. PEHRG214 has demonstrated potent neutralization and complement-mediated lysis of HIV-1 particles by targeting host cell proteins present in the viral envelope that are conserved across multiple strains. Clinical studies have shown that it can reduce viral load, increase CD4+ T cell counts, and decrease infected white cells in patients with HIV infection. The drug was developed as an immune-based therapy to potentially enhance or maintain conventional antiretroviral regimens for AIDS treatment[2][3][4][5][6].
