Overview

PEi refers to a small molecule drug candidate being developed by ANTABIO as part of its PEi program. This inhaled drug is designed to act as an adjunct to existing antibiotic therapy, aiming to reduce the frequency and severity of Pseudomonas exacerbations. Its mechanism of action involves targeting both the virulence and persistence of biofilm-adapted infections, specifically by inhibiting the LasB elastase virulence factor of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The drug is intended for patients at risk due to cystic fibrosis.
