Overview

Peiyuan capsule (also known as Bushen Peiyuan capsule) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by the Anhui Province Chinese Medicine Hospital (First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine). It is formulated to treat stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in patients presenting with a TCM syndrome pattern of lung-kidney qi deficiency with phlegm and blood stasis obstructing the lung. The therapeutic effects of the capsule are evaluated in clinical trials assessing lung function, frequency and severity of acute COPD exacerbations, dyspnea, exercise capacity, and overall quality of life.
