Overview

Pelgrazumab is an investigational immune checkpoint inhibitor being developed through a collaboration between MorphoSys and Xencor. It is a bispecific antibody designed using Xencor's XmAb 2+1 bispecific antibody format, which allows for the simultaneous targeting of two different immune checkpoints: Programmed Cell Death Protein 1 (PD-1) and Cytotoxic T-Lymphocyte Associated Protein 4 (CTLA-4). By dual-targeting these pathways, pelgrazumab aims to enhance the anti-tumor immune response more effectively than monotherapy by overcoming multiple mechanisms of immune evasion used by cancer cells. The development of this molecule is part of a broader strategic alliance to leverage bispecific antibody engineering for oncology indications.
