Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pelton-C is a combination pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Global Pharmaceuticals in Pakistan. It contains domperidone maleate and cinnarizine as its active ingredients. Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist that acts as a prokinetic agent, increasing gastrointestinal motility and preventing nausea and vomiting by blocking dopamine receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone. Cinnarizine is a calcium channel blocker and H1-receptor antagonist that acts primarily on the vestibular system to alleviate symptoms of vertigo and motion sickness. This combination is typically indicated for the treatment of nausea, vomiting, and vestibular disorders such as vertigo and motion sickness, providing a dual mechanism to address both gastrointestinal and vestibular symptoms.
