pemafibrate + rifampin

This is a **combination of pemafibrate (K-877)**, a novel selective peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha modulator (SPPARMα), and **rifampin (rifampicin)**, an antibiotic. Pemafibrate acts as an agonist with very high selectivity for PPARα, robustly lowering triglycerides and improving markers of atherogenic dyslipidemia, with a distinct gene transactivation profile compared to traditional fibrates. Rifampin is an established antibiotic that also strongly induces hepatic enzymes including cytochrome P450s and drug transporters. The combination is relevant for drug-drug interaction studies, as rifampin is used to assess the impact of enzyme induction on the pharmacokinetics of pemafibrate[2][3]. There is no evidence that this combination is used for therapeutic purposes beyond pharmacokinetic or DDI (drug-drug interaction) evaluation.
