Overview

This is a **multi-agent combination therapy** consisting of pembrolizumab (a programmed cell death protein 1 [PD-1] immune checkpoint inhibitor monoclonal antibody), MK-4830 (a monoclonal antibody targeting the immunoglobulin-like transcript 4 [ILT4] receptor on myeloid cells), carboplatin (a platinum-based chemotherapy agent), and paclitaxel (a microtubule inhibitor chemotherapy agent). Pembrolizumab unleashes T-cell mediated antitumor immunity by blocking PD-1. MK-4830 blocks the ILT4 receptor, reducing myeloid-driven immunosuppression in the tumor microenvironment, thus enhancing response to checkpoint inhibition. Carboplatin and paclitaxel are cytotoxic agents that disrupt DNA replication and mitosis, increasing direct cancer cell death. This combination is under investigation in **advanced solid tumors**, including metastatic breast cancer and lung cancer, to leverage both immune-mediated and chemotherapy-driven tumor regression[1][3][4].
