Pembrox

Pembrox is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody developed by Laboratorios Elea Phoenix in collaboration with mAbxience. It is a biosimilar of the reference product Keytruda (pembrolizumab). Pembrox functions as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by targeting the programmed death receptor-1 (PD-1) on T cells. By blocking the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands, PD-L1 and PD-L2, the drug prevents the inhibition of T-cell activity, thereby enhancing the immune system's ability to recognize and destroy cancer cells. Launched in Argentina in early 2025, Pembrox is indicated for approximately 20 oncological conditions, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and melanoma, and was evaluated in clinical trials (as MB12) for efficacy and safety in patients with stage IV non-squamous NSCLC.
