Pemlimogene merolisbac is a recombinant live attenuated double-deleted (LADD) strain of *Listeria monocytogenes* engineered to express a fusion protein containing tumor-associated antigens, including mesothelin and EGFRvIII. It functions as an immunotherapy and cancer vaccine by activating the immune system, leading to recruitment and activation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes against tumor cells expressing these antigens. The drug was initially developed by Aduro BioTech and later advanced by Chinook Therapeutics (now part of Novartis), Janssen Biotech, and Bristol Myers Squibb. Its primary indication has been non-small cell lung cancer, with additional investigation in ovarian cancer[2][3][4][5].
