Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PeMTADiV is a preclinical-stage therapeutic candidate developed by Spherium Biomed for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. It is designed as a dual-targeting agent that simultaneously inhibits Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) and Serum Amyloid A1 (SAA1). IL-1β is a key mediator of the inflammatory response, and its overproduction is linked to various autoinflammatory and autoimmune conditions. SAA1 is an acute-phase protein that contributes to chronic inflammation and is a precursor to amyloid A (AA) amyloidosis. By neutralizing both targets, PeMTADiV aims to provide a synergistic anti-inflammatory effect to manage complex autoimmune pathologies. Following the acquisition of Spherium Biomed by Ferrer in 2018, the pipeline assets were integrated into Ferrer's R&D activities.
