Overview
Pengshi Shengjing is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed by the Shanghai Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, specifically based on the clinical experience of Dr. Peng Peiyuan. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of male infertility conditions, including asthenospermia (low sperm motility) and oligospermia (low sperm count). The formula is designed to tonify the kidney essence and strengthen the reproductive system. Pharmacologically, it is thought to improve sperm quality by modulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis, enhancing mitochondrial function in spermatozoa, and reducing oxidative stress in the seminal plasma.
