Overview

This is a combination drug consisting of two active pharmaceutical ingredients: - **Penicillin VK (Penicillin V Potassium)** is a narrow-spectrum beta-lactam antibiotic used primarily to treat infections caused by susceptible gram-positive bacteria, such as streptococcal infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. - **Haloperidol** is a high-potency first-generation (typical) antipsychotic agent used mainly for the treatment of schizophrenia, acute psychosis, Tourette syndrome, and severe behavioral disorders. It acts primarily through strong antagonism of dopamine D2 receptors in the brain's mesolimbic and mesocortical pathways. Haloperidol also has antagonist effects on Sigma-1 receptors and can induce apoptosis in certain cells. The combination would theoretically provide both antibacterial activity from penicillin VK and antipsychotic effects from haloperidol but there is no standard or approved combined formulation known under this exact name.
