Overview

**Pentaglobin** is a plasma-derived, IgM-enriched polyvalent human immunoglobulin product for intravenous infusion developed by Biotest. Each mL contains 50 mg human plasma proteins, comprising approximately 38 mg IgG, 6 mg IgM, and 6 mg IgA. Its pooled polyclonal antibodies provide broad passive humoral immune support, including binding and neutralization of bacterial antigens and toxins such as lipopolysaccharide, enhancement of opsonization and pathogen clearance, and immunomodulatory effects. It is indicated in certain markets as adjunctive treatment for severe bacterial infections alongside antibiotics and as immunoglobulin replacement in immunocompromised patients with severe secondary antibody deficiency.
