Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The pentavalent reassortant rotavirus attenuated live vaccine is an oral, live-attenuated biological product developed by Sinovac Life Sciences (a subsidiary of Sinovac Biotech). It is designed to prevent rotavirus gastroenteritis, a leading cause of severe diarrhea in infants and young children. The vaccine contains five reassortant rotavirus strains covering serotypes G1, G2, G3, G4, and G9, produced through reassortment between human and bovine rotavirus parent strains. It targets the outer capsid proteins VP7 and VP4 to induce a protective immune response. In clinical development, it has been used as an active comparator in trials for Sinovac's hexavalent rotavirus vaccine.
